Soul Music

Music enters my soul
Like a cool breeze
Kisses my unkissed parts,

Sweet, soft, and
Without the demands 
Of joy repayment plans.

It takes my sleeping
Self by the arm, and 
Invites my mind on

A summer or winter
Walk, down idiosyncratic
Memory lanes of time.

She gives a seductive
Smiles to my weary,
Self alienated agendas.

Strange hearts and dreams
Are united in the wedded
Bliss of music shared.

Music, she lays with me,
Without the usual
Courtship inquisitions, so

Inherent in those who seek,
To get some of me,
That I don't want gotten,

No, music, she just comes,
To bring herself, share herself,
To dance me, with myself,

For all she is, is herself,
And of course whatever
My soul's ear needs in that moment.
